Repeating Ourselves II — Message

£20.00

Repeating Ourselves II. Summer 2025.

It needs to be repeated that this is the first genocide that has happened on our phones. It needs to be repeated that we are capable of watching something for two years without seeing it. It needs to be repeated that even as we have differently registered the scale of destruction in Gaza, we have not been able to stop it with protests or with boycotts. It needs to be repeated that we will continue to protest and to boycott. It needs to be repeated that an entire population is now
being starved, and that the ‘humanitarian’ distribution of aid has become a killing field. It needs to be repeated that our country is
deeply implicated in the destruction of Gaza and this weighs on everyone’s psyche, especially because it is so often denied, especially because history is repeating itself.

In this crisis of repetitions, we want to draw attention to poems being written by Palestinians. At a time when people on other coasts have been throwing bottles filled with rice and flour into the Mediterranean,
hoping they might reach a Palestinian in Gaza, the second poem we are sharing is ‘Message’, by Hala, who is a 17-year-old poet from Gaza. Her home was bombed two weeks ago. Hala is one of millions who are trying to survive Israel's murderous assault. Hala has not stopped writing. Hala is writing in an English that is clearer than ours.

Hala's poem has been letterpress-printed by Theo Hersey. Each purchase of the A4 print also comes with an A5 print of 'Repeating Ourselves II'. Prints will ship out in w/c 25 August.

All proceeds will be shared directly with Hala & her family, & with
Doctors Without Borders.

This is the second in a series of letterpress poems by Palestinian
poets, sourced through The Hands Up Project. Please feel encouraged to
share/re-post on social media, as a way of lifting up Palestinian voices at a time when
many of those voices are being violently silenced.

Shipping week commencing 25th August.
